New Zealand’s Jimmy Neesham is known for his witty and hilarious replies on Twitter. The Kiwi all-rounder never misses an opportunity to flaunt his humourous side on the microblogging website. He keeps entertaining fans with his hilarious tweets every now and then.

Recently, Neesham shared another hilarious on-field incident with his fans as the Kiwi all-rounder revealed about a face-off against Australia pacer Mitchell Starc. After the Australian spearhead sledged Neesham on the field, the Blackcaps all-rounder responded back in a hilarious fashion.

Neesham joined the Marc Peard Sports Daily Debrief Facebook show where he talked about the incident. It happened during Australia and New Zealand’s encounter back in 2015 at the Gabba. Neesham was out to bat after the New Zealand side was four wickets. They needed another 339 runs to win and hence, a draw was the aim for the Kiwi side.

The incident happened during the Test at Gabba

Starc, who was in good rhythm, tried to sledge Neesham. However, Starc got his sledge completely wrong due to Neesham’s reply. “I came out to bat and Mitchell Starc, who was bowling thunderbolts, came up to me and said ‘bit early for a night watchman isn’t it?’,” Neesham said.

Neesham pointed out the mistake in his sledge and gave a hilarious response to turn the tables. “I turned to him and said ‘mate it’s day five. There’s no night. This is it’,” he said.

Neesham might have won the sledge battle but he failed to steer New Zealand’s ship to the shore. After winning the on-field battle of exchange of words, Neesham was eventually dismissed by Australia’s pace spearhead Mitchell Johnson. New Zealand lost that match by 208 runs.

29-year-old Neesham has donned the Kiwi jersey in 63 ODIs and 12 Tests where he has amassed 1286 and 709 runs respectively. With the ball, he has got 61 ODI scalps and 14 Test wickets to his name. Talking about the shortest format of the game, Neesham has represented New Zealand in 18 T20Is where he has scalped 13 wickets along with gathering 185 runs with the willow.
