Pakistan national team has a history of producing world-class fast bowlers. Be it Wasim Akram or Nasim Shah, the Men in Green have always boasted game-changing pacers in their national squad. It’s not a secret that Pakistan speedsters have wreaked havoc on many batting forces over the years.

Left-handed opener Tamim Iqbal also reflected on Pakistan’s pace battery and insisted Bangladesh to learn from the Men in Green. According to Tamim, Bangladesh should follow Pakistan in their quest to find a quality fast-bowler.

Tamim, in interaction with cricketer-turned- commentator Ramiz Raja, opined that relying heavily on spinners in the domestic circuit has dented Bangladesh’s path in finding quality fast bowlers.

“Pakistan is one team that we can learn from. In domestic matches, we play on similar kind of wickets, but still, Pakistan has always produced top-class fast-bowlers,” said Tamim.

“If we can follow the path, which Pakistan has been doing, I think that will help Bangladesh cricket especially in fast-bowling,” he added.

Tamim Iqbal also heaped praise on Saeed Ajmal

Tamim also lauded Pakistan’s Saeed Ajmal and said that the former off-spinner troubled him the most in international cricket. “Saeed Ajmal in his prime was an unbelievable bowler, who you could not pick. I could not pick him,” he said.

Earlier, during a Facebook live session, Tamim had also heaped praise on Shoaib Akhtar. The ‘Rawalpindi Express‘, in his prime, was regarded as the most lethal bowler on the planet. Akhtar was capable of unleashing 150 kmph deliveries at a constant rate to trouble the batsmen. Tamim had named Akhtar as the bowler who scared him in his playing career

“I always say this. I have played a lot of fast bowlers. I have also faced a lot of balls around 150 kmph. But I got scared only once. When I first played Shoaib Akhtar. That day I thought he would kill me. His bowling was so terrifying,” he said.

Tamim was recently also in conversation with current Indian skipper Virat Kohli where the two had discussed life amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Tamim had also asked the Indian captain to wish the people of Bangladesh for Eid.
